Shelby Amateur Radio Club
What We Do
COMMUNITY SERVICE
We sponsor the local Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) group, providing communications support for Emergency Management, the Red Cross, and other served agencies.
REPEATERS
We keep and maintain six local repeaters, supporting reliable amateur radio communications in Shelby, Cleveland County and surrounding areas.
SHELBY HAMFEST
We host the Shelby Hamfest each year – one of the largest hamfests in the south.
MORE THAN RADIO
Get involved with a wide range of activities, including foxhunting, public service events, Field Days, and operating across HF/VHF/UHF plus digital modes like packet/D-STAR.
WEEKLY NETS
We have a several nets throughout the week including twice a week on 146.880 at 8:30 PM (Mondays and Fridays) — as well as others. Click below for nets in our area.
MEETINGS
Join us at our club meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 PM. It’s open to the public and we’d love to see you there.
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1957, the Shelby Amateur Radio Club has grown from a small group of local enthusiasts into a long-standing organization dedicated to promoting amateur radio and community service.
